Week #12: Nov 19-23 PEER EDITING WEEK

Monday Nov 19: EDITING BLOCK
  • PEER EDITING CIRCLES (using sticky notes on printouts of spreads to show any changes/mistakes etc)
  • Work block: 2-page spread due Nov 21
Tuesday Nov 20: EDITING BLOCK
  • Work block: 2-page spread due Nov 21
  • Editors review ALL pages/spreads
Wednesday Nov 21: FIRST DEADLINE
  • Team meet and check in
  • 2-page spread due TODAY
  • CLASS PARTY!

Week #11: Nov 12-16

Monday Nov 12: Remembrance Day - NO CLASSES

Tuesday Nov 13:
  • Work block: 2-page spread due Nov 21
  • Spreads must be ready for peer editing on Monday Nov 19
Wednesday Nov 14: 
  • Team meet and check in, editors review team pages/spreads
  • Work block: 2-page spread due Nov 21
  • Print out all spreads in prep for peer editing on Monday

Week #10: Nov 5-9

Monday Nov 5:
  • Work block: 2-page spread due Nov 21
  • People are waiting for photos - make sure to edit and get them onto Yearbook Avenue

Wednesday Nov 7: 
  • Team meet and check in
  • Work block: 2-page spread due Nov 21

Week #9: Oct 29-Nov 2 -> SPIRIT WEEK

Monday Oct 29: 
  • SPIRIT WEEK: make sure to sign out cameras and upload photos throughout the week
  • Take a look at the page ladder and assigned spreads as well as deadlines
  • Work block for template spreads

Wednesday Oct 31: HALLOWEEN
  • DUE: template spreads -> review as a class and choose - 10 mins max!
  • Photo Cropping PPT and Lightroom DEMO
  • Edit 8-10 photos from each event that you have taken, share with a peer, and upload to yearbook avenue
  • REMINDER: 1ST DEADLINE IS NOV 21
  • Week of NOV 19 will be PEER EDITING WEEK- we will meet on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday​ NOV 19, 20, 21

Week #8: Oct 22-26

Monday Oct 22: 
  • Class Meeting
  • Presentation: Before, During and After Events
  • Presentation: Cropping and Editing Photos, practice on 5 of your photos and submit to  my hand-in folder
  • DUE: Writing Interview and Survey Questions

Wednesday Oct 24:​
  • Jostens Advisor Visit: Rachel
  • DUE: The Personal Touch Assignment
  • Assignment: create a SPORTS or CLUB page template to possibly be chosen as our main template for the yearbook

Week #7: Oct 15-19

Monday Oct 15: 
  • Class Meeting
  • DUE - All About Me Assignment: 2-page practice spread - review the pages together as a class

Wednesday Oct 17:​
  • ​Teambuilding: Drama in Yearbook Scenarios
  • Interviewing: read the article together as a class
  • Writing Interviews and Survey Questions Assignment DUE MON OCT 22
  • The Personal Touch Assignment (interview a peer), typed and printed, DUE WED OCT 24

Week #6: Oct 9-12

Monday Oct 8: NO CLASSES (THANKSGIVING)

Wednesday Oct 10:
  • Class Meeting
  • All About Me Assignment: 2-page practice spread, Due at the start of class on Monday Oct 15

Friday Oct 12: NO CLASS - HOWEVER - EDITORS MEETING TO ASSIGN PAGE LADDER PAGES
  • Editors meeting 

Week #5: Oct 1-5

Monday Oct 1:
  • All About Me Assignment: 2-page practice spread, Due Oct 10

Wednesday Oct 3:
  • All About Me Assignment: 2-page practice spread, Due Oct 10
  • **Staff Meeting**
  • Assign page ladder pages, departments, teams, clubs
  • Upload all photos to Jostens- pick 10 best from Terry Fox and any other events
  • Photography Schedule

Week #4: Sept 24-28

Monday Sept 24:
  • "ME" time, "WE" time, "IT" time
  • Cover designers**meet during the block as well as after class to discuss the template requirements, how to mix their styles, etc.
  • WE time:
    • team building exercise (human knot), 
    • Present assigned leadership roles and discuss current tasks (on list)
    • discuss all other notes - choose a TEMPLATE!
    • Intro to Assignment  #2: Photo Composition (PPT)
  • IT time:
    • Leaders - meet with your team and go through the assigned tasks
    • Photo Editor - make folders for current photos from: scavenger hunt, clubs day, senior sail, etc.

Wednesday Sept 26:
  • Jostens advisor visit: Rachel

Week #3: Sept 17-21

Monday Sept 17:
  • Discussion of staff leadership roles - write out in point form - 3 reasons why you would be a good fit for this role/previous or similar experience
  • As a class, create a list of THEME and COVER concepts and ideas, must decide by Wednesday
  • Reminder Scavenger Hunt photos are due on Wed
  • Review any upcoming EVENTS and sign up for them
  • Who will be in charge of photos to Google? - create a YB account
  • Who is interested in Photography? Art/Design? Marketing? Compiling information (ie. emails about teams, events, etc)?
  • Move cameras downstairs to Rm 112 office
  • Send an email to group for contact

Wednesday Sept 19:
  • Check in on assigned task list from Monday
  • Collect Yearbook contracts, Camera contracts, and staff roles 
  • Class vote on THEMES, based on sketch cover concepts
  • Photo Scavenger Hunt Due, put photos in a folder - in order, sit with student pairs to collect marks​
